Our
aim is
to use arts and Occupational therapy methodologies
to work creatively with children and young
people The philosophy is to make the Arts
accessible to all young people from as early
as possible, using the familiar objects,
colours and facilitates of our created friendly
environment as a focal stimuli for exploration
playing and mainstream learning.
We use of the arts as a positive and exciting
media for exploring and recognizing our
world, the issues and concerns that affect
and influence our lives. Through participation
in the arts, we believe people can be empowered
to develop personal and social communication
skills, self confidence, self value, voice
skills, musical awareness and instrument
skills, performance ability, the development
of talent and the opportunity to creatively
explore and recognize the issues and concerns
which affect and influence our lives.
Objectives
are:
To use theatre arts with children, young
people and adults from culturally specific
groups and create an environment for them
to produce work according to their own cultural
agendas, including supporting the use of
home languages (e.g.. young women, refugees,
IDP’s, young people with physical, sensory,
educational special needs)
To devise performances, which are created
through collaboration of young people from
diverse cultural groups, exchanging ideas
to achieve a shared creative communication
of their perceived concerns and aspirations.
To integrate groups of different ages and
abilities wherever possible.
To secure funding in order to provide an
open access service.
To set an example for other existing services
to follow.
